Timed Multiparty Session Types
We propose a typing theory, based on multiparty session types, for modular verification of real-time choreographic interactions. To model real-time implementations, we introduce a simple calculus with delays and a decidable static proof system. The proof system ensures type safety and time-error freedom, namely processes respect the prescribed timing and causalities between interactions. A decidable condition on timed global types guarantees time-progress for validated processes with delays, and gives a sound and complete characterisation of a new class of CTAs with general topologies that enjoys progress and liveness
Long-time behavior of an angiogenesis model with flux at the tumor boundary
This paper deals with a nonlinear system of partial differential equations
modeling a simplified tumor-induced angiogenesis taking into account only the
interplay between tumor angiogenic factors and endothelial cells. Considered
model assumes a nonlinear flux at the tumor boundary and a nonlinear
chemotactic response. It is proved that the choice of some key parameters
influences the long-time behaviour of the system. More precisely, we show the
convergence of solutions to different semi-trivial stationary states for
different range of parameters.Comment: 17 page
Brightness variations in totally-eclipsing binary GSC4589-2999
We present multi-colour CCD photometry of GSC4589-2999 obtained in 2008 and
2009. The observations indicate that the system is an active Algol binary.
Based on the new data, the mean brightness of the system is decreasing through
the years 2007-2009. The light curves obtained in 2008-2009 are modelled using
the Wilson-Devinney code. We also discussed the light and colour variations of
the system at different orbital phases. Evidence suggests that these brightness
and colour variations are due to the rotation of unevenly distributed starspots

Interface Depinning in the Absence of External Driving Force
We study the pinning-depinning phase transition of interfaces in the quenched
Kardar-Parisi-Zhang model as the external driving force goes towards zero.
For a fixed value of the driving force we induce depinning by increasing the
nonlinear term coefficient , which is related to lateral growth, up to
a critical threshold. We focus on the case in which there is no external force
applied (F=0) and find that, contrary to a simple scaling prediction, there is
a finite value of that makes the interface to become depinned. The
critical exponents at the transition are consistent with directed percolation
depinning. Our results are relevant for paper wetting experiments, in which an

Water footprint from growing potato crops in Cuba
This article determines the water footprint from the potato crop in Cuba between the years 2009 and 2012 using the CROPWAT model. Climate, yields and fertilization data are specific to each of the areas where the crops were grown. The results are compared with previous works in other countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. In the case of Cuba, the results show a difference of 25% with respect to international reports developed with data related to climate and average crops in the country. Other countries in the region have similar levels, although with a smaller gray component and a larger green component. The water footprint from potato crops is also compared with other crops in Cuba, finding that potatoes represent the fourth largest water demand.En el artículo se determina la huella hídrica de la cosecha de la papa
en Cuba entre los años 2009 y 2012 utilizando el modelo CROPWAT.
Los datos climáticos, de rendimiento y de fertilización son específicos
de cada una de las áreas donde se realiza la cosecha y los resultados
obtenidos se comparan con los de trabajos anteriores realizados en
otros países de América Latina y el Caribe. En el caso de Cuba los
resultados muestran diferencias de un 25% respecto a los obtenidos
en reportes internacionales elaborados a partir de datos climáticos y
de la cosecha promedios del país. Respecto a otros países de la región
tienen niveles similares aunque con menor componente gris y mayor
componente verde. También se compara la Huella Hídrica de la
cosecha de la papa con la de otros cultivos en Cuba estableciéndose
que la papa ocupa el cuarto lugar en demanda de agua
Tensorial perturbations in the bulk of inflating brane worlds
In this paper we consider the stability of some inflating brane-world models
in quantum cosmology. It is shown that whereas the singular model based on the
construction of inflating branes from Euclidean five-dimensional anti-de Sitter
space is unstable to tensorial cosmological perturbations in the bulk, the
nonsingular model which uses a five-dimensional asymptotically anti-de Sitter

Efficacy of antiemetic therapy in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy
AbstractIntroductionA high incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting has been observed in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy (20–40%). This causes an increase in patient discomfort, a delay in recovery, and an increase in hospital stay.ObjectiveCompare the efficacy of ondansetron plus metoclopramide and ondansetron alone in the control of postoperative nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy.Material and methodsA comparative, prospective, experimental, longitudinal double blind study was performed with 30 patients programmed for laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The Apfel score was applied postoperatively. Patients were divided into two groups with 15 participants. Metoclopramide 10mg and ondansetron 4mg were administered in the first Group (A), and ondansetron 4mg in the second Group (B), after induction of anesthesia. Nausea and vomiting were evaluated for 24h postoperatively using a Likert scale.ResultsOf the patients who presented nausea, the condition was mild. The patient who presented vomiting, vomited only once. Neither group required rescue drugs. Regarding the Apfel score, there was no correlation between the percentage of stratified risk and the patients who presented postoperative nausea and vomiting.ConclusionsNo statistically significant difference was observed between ondansetron plus metoclopramide and ondansetron alone in patients subjected to laparoscopic cholecystectomy
Configuration Complexities of Hydrogenic Atoms
The Fisher-Shannon and Cramer-Rao information measures, and the LMC-like or
shape complexity (i.e., the disequilibrium times the Shannon entropic power) of
hydrogenic stationary states are investigated in both position and momentum
spaces. First, it is shown that not only the Fisher information and the
variance (then, the Cramer-Rao measure) but also the disequilibrium associated
to the quantum-mechanical probability density can be explicitly expressed in
terms of the three quantum numbers (n, l, m) of the corresponding state.
Second, the three composite measures mentioned above are analytically,
numerically and physically discussed for both ground and excited states. It is
observed, in particular, that these configuration complexities do not depend on
the nuclear charge Z. Moreover, the Fisher-Shannon measure is shown to
quadratically depend on the principal quantum number n. Finally, sharp upper
bounds to the Fisher-Shannon measure and the shape complexity of a general
